Co-op Takes Northeastern to Top 50 in the US

Northeastern University has long been ranked number one for Best Co-ops.  A century after its inception, Co-op has established the university as one of the top 50 academic institutions in the nation.  Ranked 43 in the 2010 U.S. News & World Report, Northeastern has surpassed rival Boston University, which is currently ranked 56.

Is Student Apathy Dead?

The efforts of this year’s SGA direct elections PR campaign have clearly paid off. For the first time in several years the percentage of students who participated in voting in the Student Government Association Presidential race exceeded 50%. A staggering 56% of the Northeastern undergraduate student population voted for either a candidate or in favor of ‘no confidence’. Provost and Senior Vice President Dean Stellar announced earlier this week on Monday that the University’s five year program will officially become the standard curriculum. Director’s announcement comes after a year long discussion between administrators and students, who met on a weekly basis to re-evaluate the University’s academic priorities. According to Stellar, the standardization of the five year program will help students get the most work experience during their undergraduate career, as they will have a “superior advantage, both academically and professionally” over graduates of other colleges and universities.
